Dining App Using Xamarin

Key challenges

Previously, the client had an existing web application and now wants to develop a mobile application that uses Xamarin technology for iOS and Android users. Xamarin developers at ValueCoders were contacted and developed this free dining app.

This is a restaurant reservation app that offers discounts of up to 50% every day in all over 1000 restaurants. No prepay or hidden charges. 100% free eating. Available in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and India, this app has been downloaded by over 4 million people across the region and is numbered 1 in Southeast Asia’s restaurant reservation app.

When they hired ValueCoders, we had to address to the following tasks:

• To develop an efficient online dining app providing details about nearby restaurants, discounts on food etc.
• Client-side should be focussing on various challenges and demands faced by the online food industry.
• Developing an app that provides a smart way to order food and reserve favorite restaurant in order to save both time and money.
• A Widget System, so the booking could be made from other sites.
• Restaurant management module for the admin to create and manage the account for the restaurant owners.
• Yield Calendar Implementation for real-time calculation of discounts. Multilingual app for getting users from everywhere.
• Login/registration section for the customers on the app.

While developing, we faced various challenges including the following ones:

• The dining project involves massive volumes of data based on the huge number of diverse restaurants in the area as well as distinct keyword-driven data types to make it easy for diners to search precisely what they wanted.
• The system also needed to include social media connections, built-in reservation system and a navigation utility for mobile users to reach their destinations.

• Visitors to the site can search for restaurants and book restaurants in one of the restaurants and take advantage of the offers offered by various restaurants on the site.
