Project Synopsis
This project aimed to bring the client’s web platform to the best for its users by giving them access to its seamless features.
Customers can use the client’s shopping website to do two things: buy things for themselves or ask us to buy things for them. First, they need to sign up or log in. After that, they can ask for prices for both options. They can pay using a Mpesa wallet.
They can do that if they want to check their past orders. The money will be taken from their wallet when they ask for something. If they have a problem, they can complain using the order ticket number and tell us what’s wrong.
Project Requirements
The project requirements by the client included enabling customers to request prices for both Self Purchase and Buy for Me options.
To engage with these features, customers must register/login before submitting their requests or orders.
The payment process for these services was facilitated through the Mpesa wallet.
Additionally, customers had the functionality to review details of their previous orders. When placing an order or submitting a ticket, the corresponding quote amount was to be debited from their Mpesa wallet.
Customers could file a complaint by providing the Order ticket number and outlining the problem in case of an issue.
Critical to the project was the visibility of all Buy for Me and Self Purchase order requests to the admin.
The admin was responsible for updating the progress of each order request, including service fees and exchange rate details. Moreover, the admin had access to various reports, such as shipment reports, payments reports, collections reports, and complaints reports.
These reports were essential for efficient management and oversight. An integral aspect of the project was automating information updates in the user’s account via a unique ID when using the bulk upload Excel option for spreadsheet data.
This comprehensive set of features aimed to meet the client’s expectation of a robust and user-friendly platform for diverse customer requirements.
Solution Implementation
PROCESS
● Users can access the Quote Calculator for Buy for Me and Self Purchase options while viewing the website.
● Once a user has registered, they will only see a platform’s address where they can deliver the items if they choose the Self Purchase option.
● Users would have the option of creating a ticket/order for the Buy for Me option, which allows them to offer a product link and product details, and Malahide will purchase and deliver the product to the customer.
● All payments for self-purchase (including service fees and air freight) and buy-for-me orders (including purchasing costs, service fees, and air freight) will be debited from the user’s M-Pesa wallet.
● When a ticket/order is submitted, a ticket number is assigned, and users can check their order status.
